Olympic Activities

The 1980 Olympic Winter Games are the stuff of legend. But, more took place in 1980 than the many US victories. The Winter Sports Capital of the World was created. Today, ORDA is electric with the energy of the world's greatest athletes and competitions... downhill, nordic, ski jumping, snowboard, bobsled, luge, speed and figure skating, hockey, biathlon (over 500 national and international championships since 1980)... it's simply the most exciting resort experience in America. And you can do a whole lot more than watch. You can ski & ride Whiteface & Gore Mountain, skate the outdoor oval or indoors in the summer, take a bobsled run summer or winter on the 1980 Winter Games track, even learn to ski jump year round. And you'll be wined, dined and pampered in the quintessential Adirondack villages of the High Peaks

Winter Activities

Downhill Skiing at Whiteface Mountain
With the greatest vertical drop in the east at 3,166 feet, very few mountains do it better than Whiteface. With long runs over three separate, yet connected areas, you'll spend maximum time on the snow and minimum time on the lifts.
There's also Little Whiteface with almost 2,500 vertical feet. And don't forget Kids Kampus which has separate lifts, lodge, ticketing, rentals, snowsports school and child care. This is an outstanding experience for young beginners in a low-key, safe environment. You bigger kids can get to Kids Kampus via the lift and trail network or with our internal shuttle system.
